Healthy French Toast Recipe

I came across this really tasty recipe and I tweaked it a little bit so that it fits just one person.  I have to say it doesn’t just look great, it tasted great too

2 Pieces of Wheat Bread

1/2 Cup Egg Substitute

1/8 Cup of Milk (Just fill 1/4 cup about half way, this one doesn’t have to be exact)

1 tsp Cinnamon

Optional: Powdered Sugar

  1. Take the two pieces of bread and cut them into strips, you can get 4-5 strips out of a single piece of bread depending on how thick you would like the pieces of french toast to be.  I like to get a few more strips, its mental thing where I feel like I am getting more haha
  2. In a small bowl whisk together the egg substitute, milk and cinnamon until everything is evenly distributed
  3. Get a non-stick pan and spray it with cooking spray, bread can stick to the pan so make sure you use enough spray.
  4. Dredge the pieces of bread in the egg mixture, place them on the pan as you dredge them, be sure to coat the entire piece of bread in the coating.
  5. Once you have all the french toast sticks in the pan, put the pan on medium heat and allow the french toast sticks to get a golden brown color on one side (2-4 mins), then flip them over and repeat the process.  After that remove the french toast sticks from the pan and put them on plate.

Enjoy with 2 pieces of turkey sausage and a cup of strawberries, lightly sprinkle the strawberries and french toast with the powdered sugar, you can also eat them with a light maple syrup if you would like!
